Looking for a soul

I left Poland when I was only 15 years old. Moving at a young age has taken away my sense of identity. Having spent my childhood in Poland I don’t consider myself English, however as I have been living in the UK for so long I’m not able to consider myself Polish either.

This body of work was created as an attempt to  to get a better understanding and handling of my feelings and emotions. I tried to reconnect with Polish landscape through photographing English landscape. Undertaking this project and spending so much time in New Forest allowed me to create my own sense of place and feeling of belonging. My identity has merged with the identity of the place I explored and the final prints became a love letter to the trees.
